Pink RIbbon Trailblazers
In the past three years, the Pink Ribbon Trailblazers have raised $42,840 for St. Joseph Mercy Oakland's Breast Health Services. In 2010 we are able to conduct four free breast health clinics.
Dr. Amy Kirby, breast surgeon, also gives the women a breast exam. The cost of a mammogram using Medicare guidelines is $108. We also pay for an ultrasound, if necessary. And, no one is turned away, there are different programs we can help them to apply for. Find out more at http://pinkribbontrailblazers.com/

Sanctuary at Bellbrook
873 W. Avon
Rochester Hills, MI 48307
A.C.T.S. is a six-hour workshop designed to explore:

How Do We Minister?
The What of Ministry traces our call to serve through both the Old and New Testaments, the signs and symbols of our Catholic heritage and Church documents.
Who is a Minister explores the various qualities of a minister — as a person of
presence, listening and prayer. Practical communication skills are presented to enhance one’s ministry.
During the How of Ministry, participants are invited to focus on a particular kind of ministry (Pastoral Care, Worship and Leadership, Catechesis) and presented
the tools for successful ministry. Catechists attending this day will receive certification for completing topics:
#1 Catechesis and the Call of Catechist (facilitated by Nancy Clancy)
#2 Creative Methods to Foster Faith Growth (facilitated by Sr. Janet Schaeffler, O.P.)

Problem Pregnancy Center of Oxford, Michigan is celebrating their 25th anniversary serving the needs of pregnant and parenting clients around the Oxford, Orion, Clarkston and Ortonville areas. Oxford Program Pregnancy Center is a non-profit education and referral organization that provides free pregnancy tests and guidance in a supportive non-judgmental atmosphere. The center is a member of Heartbeat International, NIFLA (National Organization of Family and Life and Life Advocates) and PCSEM (Pregnancy Centers of Southeastern Michigan).
Oxford Problem Pregnancy Center will be hosting a 25th Anniversary Silent Auction Benefit Dinner on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Boulder Pointe Golf and Conference Center in Oxford. The dinner auction will feature guest speaker Michelle Yax-Schmidt, Director of Mother and Unborn Baby Care in Southfield, along with a silent auction, Chinese raffle and a 50/50 raffle. Michelle will share her personal testimony of crisis pregnancy, abortion and the healing and redemption that has enabled her to serve other women and teens. Seats to the dinner may be reserved by contacting the center at least one week prior to the event.
In 25 years, thousands of clients have been served and educated. Most importantly, over 225 babies live, laugh and love because the center has, and continues to be, a positive presence in the community. As founding and current board member Ann Sulisz states, With confidence that the Center is doing God's work, as we commit to doing His will and seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit, as we walk in the footsteps of Christ and shoulder the cross with the clients, we will remain committed to the ministry to the born and unborn, to their moms in need or crisis.
For more information, please contact Teresa at (248) 969-2177. Donations of silent auction items or financial support can be sent to the Center at 35 N. Manresa Jesuit Retreat House
You can make reservations or get more information by calling 877-manresa or our website at www.manresa-sj.org.
Individually Directed Retreats
Directors: Individually Assigned
Each summer we set certain dates aside in for individually directed retreats. We invite experienced men and women, Jesuits and others, to form a team so that amid this variety of directors each retreatant may have some compatible person to walk with them through the Spiritual Exercises.
What Are Individually Directed Retreats?
There's a special atmosphere in the house when significant numbers of people are engaged in their own silent retreats surrounded by others who are giving themselves to the Lord in the same way, joining together for Mass and other prayer. One grows close to people in this silent communion even in the absence of conversation.
Manresa's special gift is prayerful solitude and peaceful openness to the Spirit. Our thirty-nine wooded and landscaped acres with stream, nature trail, and four “cottages” separate from the main house add to the prayerful atmosphere. |
